If Harry Kane and Sergio Aguero weren’t having spectacular seasons, the clear favorite to win the Premier League golden boot would be Muhamed Salah. The Egyptian currently has 22 goals in the league, behind only Kane, who has 23. But Salah has seven assists, while Kane has only one. So if you look at it from a holistic point of view (outside of just goals), it’s clear who’s having a better season.
That’s why some of the biggest clubs in Europe, notably Real Madrid, have been paying attention, and even expressed intention in luring the Egyptian away from Anfield. And after months of speculation of an imminent move to Madrid, Salah finally responded. Speaking to Spanish publication Marca, Salah said even though he admires Madrid, he’s focussed and fully committed to playing for Liverpool.
“At the moment I am here. I want to concentrate on my team and finish the season very well,” the Egyptian said.
And responding to the transfer rumors, he said “Why do you think they say these things?” he said. “I don’t have much to say about that. If I have to say something, I’ll say I’m happy at Liverpool.”
