The Manchester Derby on Saturday April 7th is arguably one of the best games of the season. Manchester City dominated the first half of the game and everyone thought the game was over, but Manchester United found a way to get two equalizing goals and then ended up winning the game.
United’s star player, Paul Pogba was easily the man of the match but the person that may have had the most influence on United’s amazing comeback was the Manager. Because the Manchester United team that came out of the dressing room for the second-half was definitely not the same Manchester United team that showed up in the first-half.
This means during half-time, United manager Jose Mourinho definitely said something to his players to rile them up. Fortunately, United defender, Chris Smalling has revealed what Mourinho said in the United dressing room during half-time.
“He didn’t have to say too much because deep down we knew as players that that wasn’t good enough, and he sort of emphasized that we don’t want to be the clowns who are standing there watching them get their trophy.”
“At half-time we were feeling sorry for ourselves, we wanted to go out there and play with prided and thought we full deserved it in the end. The first half was terrible, we dropped off didn’t play our game, and could have been out of sight.”
